Once again, this wrap up is out later than expected. Most of this post was written two weeks ago, but then work got busy and I had deadlines to meet and, naturally, the blog fell on the backburner. So, how is everyone doing? I feel like I should ask this more often because it’s so easy to get so consumed by the blogging community that you forget that bloggers have commitments beyond the blog. So, how about we check in with each other? How’s life been treating you?
Now, again, blogging has not been at the forefront of my mind this past month, and I find that I tend to be more involved in the blogoverse at the beginning of the month than I do by the end of it. Having said that, I do like that I’ve found this state of mind where I don’t stress about my presence in the community as much as I once did. Dropping in when I can is better than forcing myself to catch up on every new development that arises. Nevertheless, here is a short summary of what I got up to in June.

June Highlights
Life: Upon reflection, June was a fun month overall. The football fever has been spreading in my house, and it’s all we’ve been watching. Sadly, Wales’ journey has come to an end in the Euro’s, but it is what it is. I found myself having to invest in a new phone by the end of the month after it ended up rebooting itself for 2 hours straight. It was quite an experience. Beyond that, life has just been going on as normal with work being work, but being lucky enough to meet up with friends and loved ones at the weekend.
Music: There’s nothing like rediscovering an artist. June’s musical highlight comes courtesy of the Arctic Monkeys. I’ll admit, I previously didn’t follow the band closely as some of their hits became so overplayed at one point, I was fed up with them. However, a weekend with their Glastonbury set being broadcast reminded me of how great they are!
Books: What has happened to this girl? In the space of 2 months, I’ve read two books. Now, that looks like nothing on paper, but I’m just glad to be reading again. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman was one of my most anticipated books of 2020, and once again, Backman was able to tell a story that was both hilarious and moving. Watch this space for my review on Backman’s latest success.
TV/Movies: I’m so happy to see Hospital Playlist back on my screen. It’s such an uplifting show, and the characters are so endearing. What I love about this drama is its focus on the characters. We all know that working in a medical capacity is highly stressful but, this show chooses to spotlight the depths of friendship and camaraderie as they navigate the highs and lows of working at a hospital.

July Plans

July is proving to already be an eventful month. I’ve got most weekends booked up and a surprising amount of work to be done. The library service is currently getting things ready for the annual summer reading challenge, so it’s all systems go. Once this busy stretch passes I’ll look to picking up another book, but at the moment I don’t have the time to do so.
Awe, thanks so much for featuring my post, friend!! ❤ The dream is still alive that, one day, Tom Hiddleston will stumble upon it and it will spark an epic discussion with him haha I really questioned his preferences there sometimes.
I'm glad you found a state where you don't worry about blogging too much. As soon as it becomes something you have to force yourself to do, it's kind of over … and I like having you around ❤ hope July will be great!!

He will find that post and then you two will have your long-overdue sit-down conversation where you can pick at his brain. Yeah, I know my presence has been very limited recently, but I’m enjoying this less stressful pace of blogging so I’ll still be around. 😀

I’m so happy to finally be in that state of mind where I’m at peace with my limited presence on the blog. I feel like it’s so much healthier to have that balance and not be so overly consumed by trying to keep up with the ever-changing nature of blogging. Hope you’re having a wonderful month. ❤ 😀

June wasn’t super exciting for me except for working on myself, you know better than anyone I have been a dark place recently but I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Blogging is something I’ve found much joy in but it’s hard to keep up to date that’s for sure. It’s in June that I realized I should create a schedule for myself to keep myself more accountable when it comes to blogging/bookstagramming.

Taking that time to focus on yourself is so important. It’s why I’ve made my peace with my limited presence on the blog because it gives me more time to focus on myself and still enjoy blogging. The schedule is always a good idea and I’m always an advocate of scheduling posts in advance too.
