I think i can speak on behalf of everyone when they say they’d love to experience Mardi Gras at some point in their lives. The whole celebration sounds so lively and joyful. Now, to celebrate, this week’s topic is to spotlight covers that represent the Mardi Gras colours. Now, most of these books are gathering dust on my tbr shelf, so this can serve as a reminder to actually read them.
Yellow – The only book I’ve read from this list is Golden Son, which is probably a dubious choice for the list since it’s a hint of gold and not actually yellow, but who doesn’t love this book? The other three books on this list are a priorty read for me, even if I don’t know when I can prioritise them cause I’m such an on/off reader. Backman is easily one of my auto-buy authors, and the concept of Anxious People sounds hilariously heartwarming. I guarantee that book will pack a punch.
Green – In a surprise plot twist, I’ve read every single book on this list, and every single one of them is worth the smiles and tears. You all know how much I adore Jade City. It’s one of the best urban fantasy novels I’ve ever read. Similarly, Blue Lily, Lily Blue was possibly my favourite installment of the Raven Cycle. The Winner’s Kiss was a brillaint conclusion to the most painful reading experience, and The Piper’s Son is Melina Marchetta at her finest. Raw, real, and relatable.
Purple – Technically, A Crown of Wishes is more green than purple, but I couldn’t find a lot of purple book covers. I’ve read exactly two in this list. A Crown of Wishes beind one immersive and magical experience. Say You’ll Remember Me is everything you’d expect from a Katie McGarry book. Now, onto A Pho Love Story. Easily one of my most anticipated released of 2021 and I hope it’s as adorable as it looks. Meanwhile, How to Fail at Flirting is basically a summary of me. 😛
