July Wrap Up 2018

Is it wrong of me for singing ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree’ this time of year? I mean, we are getting closer to the holidays now. Anyway, I have no idea where July has gone. I feel like this month was one where I was just going through the motions. I’ve been so busy lately that all my days seem to blur into one. For that reasons, I read a total of ZERO books in July. I did actually start reading Obsidio on the rare day off I had but have yet to make a dent in the book. I’m already predicting that AIDAN makes some dramatic/questionable choices, and I am praying that my favourites don’t get killed.

So, on the reading front, there is nothing new to report. However, the good news is that the projector is out so our Summer movie marathon can officially begin. Having a home cinema vibe does come in handy sometimes and when I’m not working most of my nights are spent watching films on the big screen.

Discussion

As you already know, I have been in a terrible book slump this year. After waiting and waiting for it to end, I have come to finally embrace the book the slump.

I also posted the second part of my On the Road series. Here I talk about my adventures in Canada’s capital, Ottawa

August Goals

Take a breather. It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget the importance of just relaxing. I already know that this month is going to be another busy one for me, which is why I need to designate a couple hours in the day to just unwind. My sanity needs this!

I would also like to finish reading Obsidio, but am not going to stress over it. I’ll read when I want to read. I’ve also started watching the Vikings and I’m curious to see how this series develops. Have any of you watched the show?

In relation to the blog, I do plan on writing some more discussion posts and finish writing part 3 of my travel diaries. I do realize that I’ve not been as active in my blog hopping and I do apologise for that, but if there is ever a post you’re proud, feel free to drop me a link and I will get round to reading them.

I have no idea where time has gone, but what was your highlight of the month?
Any plans for August?

  1. You sound like you’ve been really busy, Lois, don’t fret too much about not having time to read. I can imagine it’s hard to find time. I went through that in June…
A summer movie marathon sounds like so much fun though! What movies are you planning on watching?
I love your discussion posts, so I’m looking forward to them!

    1. It’s insane. I thought I’d have a bit of a breather in August, but the opposite has happened and I have even more extra shifts. I think I’m slowly losing my sanity.
Well, I’m trying to convince my brother to do a Lord of the Rings marathon, even though I watched the films last month. Wonder Woman is another one I want to watch on the projector. I swear we spend more time trying to decide which film to watch than we do watching them.

  2. I hope you’ll get to finish Obsidio this month, I would love to hear what you think of it 😀 I’m so nervous to read it haha 🙂 I hope you will be able to relax a little bit this August, you’re so right that it is so very important to take this time to ourselves, to relax and everything ❤ ❤
Thank you so much for sharing my post!! I hope you'll have a lovely month! ❤ ❤

    1. I’m only about 200 pages in, but they’ve basically set the scene for the chaos that’s to come.
Relaxing is a foreign concept right now. I’ve ended up taking on a lot more additional shifts in August as well so I am slowly losing my sanity.

    1. It is such a good series and so unique in its narrative methods. I’m also told that the audiobooks are incredible for this series. Hope August has been kind to you so far.
