Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, created by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week I am waiting on
Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner
Publication Date: February 26th, 2019
Goodreads Summary
Every Friday night, best friends Delia and Josie become Rayne Ravenscroft and Delilah Darkwood, hosts of the campy creature feature show Midnite Matinee on the local cable station TV Six.
But with the end of senior year quickly approaching, the girls face tough decisions about their futures. Josie has been dreading graduation, as she tries to decide whether to leave for a big university and chase her dream career in mainstream TV. And Lawson, one of the show’s guest performers, a talented MMA fighter with weaknesses for pancakes, fantasy novels, and Josie, is making her tough decision even harder.
Scary movies are the last connection Delia has to her dad, who abandoned the family years ago. If Midnite Matinee becomes a hit, maybe he’ll see it and want to be a part of her life again. And maybe Josie will stay with the show instead of leaving her behind, too.
As the tug-of-war between growing up and growing apart tests the bonds of their friendship, Josie and Delia start to realize that an uncertain future can be both monstrous…and momentous.
I still need to read a Jeff Zentner novel. I have both his other publications and have every intention of reading them. However, in the meantime, I thought I’d extend my tbr list by spotlighting his upcoming book, Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee. I love books that focus on friendship, and with graduation looming and people heading along different paths, friendships also change. Both Josie and Delia sound like incredible characters and I can’t wait to meet them and follow their journey.
What’s your most anticipated book?
I haven’t read a Zentner book either. I’m so loving the cover for this one. I love that the book focuses on friendship too.

I really should get to them, but this slump just isn’t feeling it.

This book sounds really good! I have read The Seprpent King by this author and loved it – I cried a whole lot, just as well haha. I can’t wait to read more from him 😀
