How are we only 4 months away from 2018? I feel like the year has gone by way to fast and I’ve done nothing with it. Time sucks. August has been a busy month for me. Between work, making travel plans and trying to piece together my life, my heads been all over the place. Because of that I’ve not been as active on the blogosphere, which sucks but I’ve been feeling so drained that I just didn’t have the energy to be more active. Hopefully this will not be the case this September.
Anyway, this month was a steady one for reading. After finishing the Gravity series, I finally made that jump back into sci-fi and read Gemina. That book completely blew me away. I can’t believe I waited so long to read it and now I have to wait until 2018 to get my hands on Obsidio. After reading Gemina, I had the urge to go back and re-read Illuminae and it was just as much fun the second time around. To finish off the month I picked up Seeker and thought it did a great job at building on the first book in this duology.

September Goals
I definitely want to be more productive this month but I’m making no promises. My work load will be increasing soon enough so my nights will be spent at work. However, hopefully I can still pop in a bit more regularly and be a bit more consistent with my commenting and blog hopping.
I’m currently re-reading The Score by Elle Kennedy. I read the book over a year ago but didn’t enjoy it as much cause I felt like I was forcing myself to read it. Now that I’m in the mood to read it I find I’m enjoying it much more. After that I’m hoping to finally finish the Off-Campus series and who knows where my mood will gravitate towards after that.
I’ve also been on a binge watching session of Attack on Titan. The show is seriously addictive. I was a bit dubious about the show to begin with but after about 5 episodes I was hooked. I’m almost at the end of the second series and I don’t know what I’ll do with myself after I finish.
Life has been a bit stressful this past month. I’ve been feeling like I’m in a bit of a rut in terms of the direction I want to take my life and career. It’s hard knowing which path to take and finding places that provide work experience is tough, especially when you live in such a rural area. I know I’m only 23 and I don’t need to have everything figured out but it’s hard to not feel like you’re stuck when the majority of your friends have already figured out their paths. I’m just going to take things day by day and hope for the best.
August was a steady reading month for me, life was a bit hectic though.
How did August treat you? What was your highlight of the month?
Hi Lois!! Thank you so much for linking to my post and I am so glad that you enjoyed it!!
Yes the year is flying by so quickly that I can barely believe it. Seems like work is hectic for you but that is great that you are keeping up with blogging and reading.
The Illuminae Files series seems interesting. It’s been a while since I read sci fi but I might give this one a try π

The year really has flown by. It already feels like autumn here. It’s like summer never happened. I’d definitely recommend The Illuminae Files. The format of the book alone is so creative and the characters are so easy to connect with. I hope you get the chance to read them in the near future.

I feel you so much, on figuring out what you are supposed to do, in terms of life, career, trying to find the right path and everything; I’m still trying to figure it all out and it’s really making me feeling anxious most of the time. You’re right, though, we need to keep reminding ourselves that we are young and not everyone have everything figured out, even if it seems like they do, especially on social media and everything else. I’m hoping that everything will be okay and that taking things day by day is making it a bit better. If you ever need to talk, rant about it or anything, I’m here β€
On the books now: I'm SO glad you finally read Gemina, what a crazy ride it was! I am still not over it, to be honest it creeped me out a tiny bit as well, so I'm super-nervous about Obsidio, hahaha.
I hope you'll have a great September, Lois! sending you tons of love xxx

The pressure from everyone isn’t really helping either. My family are fine with me taking my time but because I live in such a rural area everyone thinks that my business is also theirs so they’re always badgering me about my “future.” This year has been stressful in that respect but I’m just taking it day by day, that’s all I can do really. I’ll take you up on the rant session though haha.
Gemina literally threw me off in terms of my prediction meter. Usually I’m good at guessing things but this one completely caught me off guard. I’m so nervous for Obsidio. I just have this horrible feeling that someone isn’t making it to the finish line and that will crush me.
Thank you for being so wonderful. Hope Septembers treating you well. π

Oh, I get the feeling. I’m not having that kind of pressure coming from others, but…more from myself ahah. Of course, please do, anytime you need to talk, I’m here! β€ β€
Same here. I feel like things are going to be bad in Obsidio. They were pretty awful in the previous nstallments but there, I am really scared that, well..;maybe no one will make it or something. It wouldn't even surprise me too much, these books are crazy!

I am definitely my own worst enemy as well. I’m always doubting myself, which doesn’t help things. Oh well, I just have to keep on trucking haha.
THEY HAVE TO LIVE. I’m already 100% invested in these guys and if one of them dies I will riot haha. My shippers hear is at stake here. π

YES, you can do this. We’ll get through this whole adulting thing someday. Or maybe we won’t, but we’ll fake it all hahaha. β€
SAMEEE. I don't know what I will do if something happens to anyone of them haha.

It was such an addictive read. I could not get enough of it. I’m so excited for Obsidio but also very nervous because I’m scared of the possibility of my favourite not making it to the finish line.
