Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week I am waiting on
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Publication Date: November 7th 2017
Goodreads Summary
Secret Identities.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.
A new Marissa Meyer book is always something to be excited about. I can see Renegades being and incredibly addictive read. The dynamic between the Renegades and the villains they overthrew has so much promise of layers and layers of gray areas. Who’s the real villain in this saga and how will these threats affect Nova and Adrian? I can’t wait to find out.
What’s your most anticipated book?
Ooh this one had yet to cross my path, exciting!

This book sounds so different to her Lunar Chronicles series so I’m excited to see where it goes. 😀

Hmm, this looks interesting enough to make me consider picking it up. Kind of surprising considering I ended my reading of Meyer’s works on a bit of a sour note!

I’m sorry your last Meyer book wasn’t a hit for you. Which book was it?

Cress. Yeah, I can’t say it was my favourite in the series but Winter makes up for it.

I had loved Cinder, but hated Scarlet. Cress was .. Okay.. But after the experience with Scarlet and then the middling one with Cress, I just had no desire to continue.

Got it. I can see why you didn’t continue.

Yesss! I can’t wait for this book to come out. It sounds like it could be a really fun antihero type story, so I’m really interested in seeing in Meyer is able to go a bit darker than her typical stories.

The tone of this book definitely sounds darker and I love it. I love it when an author does something different so I hope it’s a success.

I can’t wait for this one! I love Marissa and I have no doubt she will do a stellar job with the villains concept too. It will be different from the Lunar Chronicles, but I’m excited!

I love that this book sounds different from the Lunar Chronicles. Renegades sounds like it’ll be a bit darker so I can’t wait to see what it has in store for us.

Oooh, this looks so good! I love stories where you can’t tell who the villain is 🙂 my most anticipated read this year is The Assassin’s Curse by Kevin Sands.

I do love the morally ambiguous nature that these villains might seem to have. It’ll keep me on my toes. I hope you enjoy The Assassin’s Curse. 😀

I’m looking forward to this one too! I was a big X-Men and superhero fan growing up, and I liked the Lunar Chronicles, so I’ll definitely be looking into this. 🙂

I loved X-men. They were basically my childhood growing up. Hopefully this book lives up to expectations.
