Good news, I have officially completed my Christmas shopping! Go me. In other news, I can’t believe we’re only 5 days away from Christmas. Where has the time gone? I hope you’ve all written your letters to Santa. Here are the books I wouldn’t mind Santa leaving under my tree.

1. The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski: I’ve been meaning to read this series for the past year and I’ve still not gotten round to it. The shame!! So for 2017, my mission is to finally devour this series in its entirety. 

2. Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff: This was one of my most anticipated books of the year but with how hectic things were in the lead up to the release I forgot all about it. I’m still very excited to read this book so hopefully Santa pulls through for me. 😉

3. Stars Above by Marissa Meyer: Another book I keep meaning to buy but haven’t done so yet. I will jump at any chance to reunite with one of my favourite crews. 

4. Outrun the Moon by Stacey Lee: Who doesn’t love a good historical fiction. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about this book and that cover is stunning.

5. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson: It’s the only Morgan Matson book I’ve yet to read. I’m told this is her most emotional book but it still covers the themes of family, friendship and love. You cannot go wrong with a Morgan Matson book.

6. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard: With the release of Windwitch approaching, I thought now would be the best time to start this series so I can binge read both books in one setting.

7. The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon: Another author that’s been receiving a ton of praise. I almost treated myself to her other novel, Making Faces, but my book buying ban wouldn’t allow it. The Bird and the Sword sounds magical and whimsical. I don’t know what to expect from this book but I’m excited to find out.

8. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler: It’s been a good 3 years since I last read a Sarah Ockler book. I figure it’s high time I picked up another one of her books and The Summer of Chasing Mermaids has a lot of positive buzz surrounding it, especially with its diverse representation.

9. Earth’s End by Elise Kova: I’ve read the first book in this series and I own the second one and I hate leaving a series unfinished so I am determined to finish this one in 2017. Besides, who wouldn’t want to have those gorgeous covers on display on their bookshelves.

10. Scythe by Neal Shusterman: I’m a sucker for an assassin story and this book sounds wonderfully morbid, full of all things stabby and morally ambiguous. Why wouldn’t I pick up this book?
