Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicles #1) by Jay Kristoff

Publication Date: August 9th 2016

Goodreads Summary
In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed her family.

Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she wanders a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and its thugs. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the hearth of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.

Now, Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic—the Red Church. Treachery and trials await her with the Church’s halls, and to fail is to die. But if she survives to initiation, Mia will be inducted among the chosen of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the only thing she desires.

To start, can we talk about how haunting the book cover is. Everything from the mask, to the shadow, the blood and outfit is just so chilling. The premise sounds just as haunting. Daughter of an executed traitor, a school of assassins and a quest for revenge. Sign me up. I feel like this book will be the type to keep me up at night. I can’t wait to see which deadly path this book takes us.

    1. With the exception of Illuminae, I’ve never read a Jay Kristoff book. He doesn’t seem like one to sugarcoat things so I’m excited to see where this book takes us. 😀

    1. I honestly had no idea he was releasing a new book until I saw the cover reveal. That cover is just amazing. It’s so atmospheric, you really get a feel for the story just by looking at it. I hope you enjoy it when it comes out. 😀
