Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating
This week I am waiting on
The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater
Publication Date: April 26th 2016
Goodreads Summary
All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love this series. The greatest surprise I got when I first started the The Raven Boys was the use of the Mab Y Darogan and the role of the sleeping heroes in Welsh history. What made this slightly weird was the fact that when I was reading The Raven Boys, I was also writing an essay on Owain Glyndwr and his legacy aka the sleeping hero.
Along this journey I have fallen in love with each and every single character in these books. I love how Blue and her Raven Boys each have their own distinct, individual voice. Not one characters is sidelined in this story and each of them go on their own journey and have grown so much over the course of these books.
The Raven King will without a doubt be emotional, unpredictable and exciting. I am nervous to see how things play out and I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to these characters.
Side notes:
- How beautiful is that cover
- Richard Campbell Gansey III needs to be in a protective bubble at all times.
- The release date is also very convenient as it comes out the day before my birthday so it’ll be the ideal gift haha
What’s your most anticipated book?
Eep! I have still yet to start the Raven Cycle but I WILL be marathoning it before The Raven King comes out. That cover is amazing!!

I’ve not read The Wolves of Mercy Falls series but I will say that The Raven Cycle is possibly her best work to date. 🙂
